    PEO STRI is seeking candidates to participate in its Acquisition Academy which develops qualified candidates in the fields of government contracting, engineering, financial management, and logistics. The focus of the Acquisition Academy is to teach the fundamentals of core PEO STRI competencies. This developmental program takes an integrated, strategic approach to providing training that focuses on technical tasks, knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal characteristics required for superior performance in the Engineering competency. This program offers an optimal opportunity to begin a career with the federal government. Candidates selected for this developmental program will spend approximately 12 weeks in the Acquisition Academy and upon successful completion will join PEO STRI project teams which provide training simulations and services to our Warfighters.

    General Schedule

  • The PEO STRI Acquisition Academy/CP-16 Engineers and Scientists (Non-Construction) developmental program are open to graduates of accredited colleges and universities seeking entry level career development positions. What is the Engineer and Scientists Career Program (CP-16)? The Engineers and Scientists (Non-Construction) Career Program (CP-16) is comprised of all the Army's engineers and scientists working in acquisition and acquisition-related fields. Career program members do all levels of research, develop equipment for fielding, provide technical support to all phases of contracting, and continue to support the Army's equipment throughout its life cycle.

    INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRONICS OR COMPUTER ENGINEERING OR COMPUTER SCIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or Computer Science. AND in addition to meeting the basic education requirement above

  • One (1) Year of graduate-level education (18 semester hours).

    OR

    Superior Academic Achievement: Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree as outlined above plus one of the following Superior Academic Achievement standards:

  • A grade point average (GPA) of "B" (i.e., a GPA of 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study.
  • A GPA of "B+" (i.e., 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all courses in your major field of study or those courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study.
  • Rank in the upper one-third of your baccalaureate graduating class or of a major university subdivision such as a College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Membership in a national scholastic honor society (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.

    OR

    One (1) Year Specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level

    Salary: Entry level for Electronics Engineer is $44,176 with earning potential up to approximately $68,809 at the end of the program.

    The position(s) covered by this recruitment flyer will transition from General Schedule (GS) to the DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (ACQ DEMO) upon reaching the full performance level.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level 2 in Acquisition Career Field Systems Planning, Research Development, and Engineering within 24 months of entrance on duty.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is Required.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
