This is an open continuous announcement. You will serve as a work leader of three or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work, and pass on to other workers instructions received from supervisor. You will check work in progress and upon completion for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines. You will demonstrate proper work method, and start work and answer worker's questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives. You will ensure needed plans, tools and supplies are available. You will plan distribution of work to subordinate on a day-to-day or project basis. You will ensure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. You will ensure that employees are provided and wear proper safety devices and protective clothes. You will work along-with other employees and set the pace by performing work of the same kind and level. You will operate, when required, manual and/or electric pallet jack in performance of assigned duties.

Applicants must meet the required Screen out element:  Ability to perform the full range Store Worker Leader duties. Able to lead other employees as a regular assignment; able to organize tools and materials for them; interpreting instructions for other people; explaining how to do work; and/or helping to train new workers.
 

In wage examining, there is no length of experience and/or training required to be eligible.   Applicants must demonstrate the ability to do the work as listed above in the screen out element. 


Physical Effort: Work requires continuous walking, standing, bending, or stooping, and moving of arms to fill shelves and counters. Frequently lifts or moves heavy boxes or crates weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds using a manual or electric pallet jack. 

 

Working Conditions: Most work is performed in the store display area which is well lighted and maintained at a comfortable temperature. Aisles are often crowded with customers and grocery carts. When working in the storage area or loading dock, may be exposed to hot or cold weather or damp or drafty conditions. May be exposed to differences in temperatures in storing or obtaining items in refrigerated rooms. There is a danger of minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes, and bruises, or heat sealer burns.
