JOB SUMMARY:
The Iron Mountain VA Medical Center is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and is part of the VA's Great Lakes Health Care System in the Veteran's Integrated Service Network (VISN 12). The medical center and its community clinics serve eligible veterans in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (fifteen counties) and Northeast Wiscsonsin (eleven counties). Travel & Relocation expenses authorized. A Recruitment Incentive may be authorized.

This facility employs state-of-the-art telemedicine technology, and is a leader in rural health care delivery in VHA. Ambulatory and acute primary and secondary health care is provided in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, non-invasive cardiology, oncology, dentistry, geriatrics, and extended care. We are part of the Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN 12) which includes facilities in Milwaukee, Madison, Tomah, WI; and Chicago, Hines and North Chicago, IL. Outpatient clinics are located in Ironwood, Marquette, Hancock, Menominee, Manistique, and Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; and Rhinelander, WI.

This position requires a comprehensively trained and licensed physician with extensive clinical and administrative experience. The position favors a candidate who can organize, direct and recruit for clinical staff. A successful applicant demonstrates the ability to lead, motivate and communicate with the medical staff to advance the quality of care offered by the institution. An important part of the clinical responsibility will center on the delivery of compassionate, timely and safe health care.
